It all started with leadership… from our dynamic President Shane
Lambert of Shane Y. Lambert Construction, and our Second Vice
President Doug Barkley, of Barkley Consulting Engineers, Inc.
Shane proved to be a powerful and articulate voice for our
industry who took our message to a number of community and
stakeholder groups, including the Greater Tallahassee Chamber
of Commerce strategic planning forum and the Mortgage Bankers
Association of Tallahassee.
As committed as he was to TBA, Shane put family first, including
bringing daughter Kyleigh to a TBA Board meeting on “Bring Your
Daughter to Work Day.”
Shane more than lived up to the family tradition following in the
footsteps of his grandfather and father as TBA Presidents.
Doug Barkley was a solid leader of our associate members and
a strong voice on zoning, growth and infrastructure issues that
impact all our members.
Through the leadership of Larry Wayne Strickland (2013 TBA Hall
of Fame inductee) and Jerry McFarland, TBA maintained strong
advocacy efforts in 2013, meeting consistently with elected
officials and our building officials Ed Jarriel and Glenn Dodson.
TBA presented excellent general membership meeting speakers in
2013 including the leaders of our state and national associations,
key legislators, and people with keen insights into the Tallahassee
area housing market.
Under the leadership of Chair Suzanne Cook, TBA’s Green Building
Council provided quality education for its members.
