Garnant added.

Attention to detail was a hallmark of the entire project, he

said. So was the willingness of all parties to work together.

Chapman Coyle Chapman, the architect; JFW Inc., the

owner’s rep; Woodmont Country Club and its building

committee; and Coakley & Williams Construction Inc. and

its subcontractors worked as a team to resolve any issues

and get questions answered quickly so that the project

schedule could be met. This was especially important

because of the need to coordinate the construction work

with the club’s daily operations and schedules.

“Throughout construction, when we had some areas of

the club almost completed, we would allow the club’s

building committee members to walk through to see

what they were getting,” said Garnant. “We heard raves

about how wonderful it was; they were really excited by

it. We are really pleased with how it turned it and are

proud that we were a part of the team that completed this

beautiful renovation.”

As part of their value engineering for the project, CWC

recommended the use of poplar for the wood trim. “With

that much millwork, you can save a substantial amount of

money,” said Garnant. With the dark stain specified by the

architect, the result is eye-catching.

“The owners wanted something spectacular and they got

it; the millwork really makes things stand out,” Garnant said.

The building’s exterior also has a strong visual appeal. The

light-brown brick on the first floor blends beautifully with

the cream-colored hardboard siding, the gray simulated

slate on the mansard roof and the gray and brown stone at
