DEVELOPER OF THE YEAR
Michael Biggerstaff —
Biggerstaff Homes, Inc. • San Angelo, Texas
Mike Biggerstaff
is a third generation Texan, home builder and remodeler. He is extremely involved in his local community.
Since 1995, he has sponsored hundreds of underprivileged young men through the local Youth Boxing Club, many of whom
became National Junior Olympic and Silver Glove Champions. In 2002, Mike was named the most admired Citizen by CASA,
Court Appointed Special Advocates. Additionally, he is a major supporter of Habitat for Humanity, Operation FINALLY
HOME, and the Historical Society. He and a group of local builders made history in April 2015 when they broke ground on
the first subdivision in the U.S. to mandate subsurface irrigation with graywater. This man has volunteered hundreds of hours
to his home builders associations and was named Builder of the Year by his local Home Builders Association of San Angelo in
2013. He has chaired and served on numerous committees at both the local and state levels, and also serves as a Trustee of the
Texas Builders Foundation. Since August of this year, he personally established the Foundation’s first $25,000 endowment and
is responsible for the establishment of four additional endowments totaling more than $200,000.
ASSOCIATE OF THE YEAR
Jessica Goehring —

Jessica Goehring
has organized TAB’s largest and most successful member benefit program. The
association’s endorsed insurance program offers the best in class risk management products from
General Liability and Builders Risk to Worker’s Compensations coverages. With the ever changing
regulation and insurance carriers in Texas, Jessica has continued to explore and introduce new, quality
products and coverages that benefit the TAB organization. During her tenure at the helm of marketing
and underwriting, TAB’s endorsed insurance program has grown by double digits. Jessica has criss-
crossed the state and participated in over 150 education seminars. Along with her participation on TAB
committees, she serves in leadership and committee positions with the Dallas Builders Association and
the BA of Greater Fort Worth.
2015 “OF THE YEAR” RECIPIENTS
J.B. SANDLIN BUILDER OF THE YEAR
Justin MacDonald —
MacDonald Companies • Kerrville, Texas
Justin MacDonald
is already quite accomplished in the housing industry. He has served as a National Association of
Home Builder director, committee chairman and state representative. In addition, Justin has been the Hill Country
Home Builders Association President twice and a member of the Texas Association of Builders Executive Committee
and Finance Committee since 2009. He is a member of TAB’s Young Professionals and, at the age of 33, he’s a TAB
Life Director. This past legislative session, Justin led TAB’s Government Relations Committee through one of its most
successful sessions. He worked with TAB staff, lobbyists and association members to pass six TAB priority pieces of
legislation that will benefit the home building industry. As he follows in the footsteps of his grandmother and father,
he’s currently the president and chief operating officer of MacDonald Companies, which specializes in multifamily
developments in suburban and rural communities.
REMODELER OF THE YEAR
Leslie King —
Greymark Construction Company • Houston, Texas
Leslie King
has been a leader among her peers and local association for a number of years
and most recently has become active at TAB in government relations and HOMEPAC. She has
participated in seven Rally Days and was integral in transitioning the Greater Houston Builders
Association into participating in TAB’s statewide promulgated contracts program. She also works
continuously to raise the professionalism of the remodeling industry and is a Certified Graduate
Remodeler, Graduate Master Builder and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist.
