Committee and Task Forces, including
TAB’s senior officers, are to be commended
for the time they devoted to ensuring that
policymakers were fully informed about the
impact of their decisions on the cost and
availability of housing.
Thank you to every TAB member who
traveled to Austin to meet with their
Legislators on Rally Day, testified before a
Legislative Committee, and supported the
Texas Association of Builders’ government
relations team. Support took many forms
including letters, emails, and calls to state
Legislators to give your elected officials
input on how proposed legislation affects
our industry. The success of this session
is largely due to the involvement of TAB’s
members and volunteer leaders. Thank you
for being a part of the process.
The last week in July, we wrapped up the
2015 Sunbelt Builders Show™ and TAB’s
summer meetings. The week began with
the HOMEPAC FUNdango 2
nd
Annual
Statewide Washers Championship and
ended with the Board of Directors meeting.
In between, attendees spent two days on
the sold out trade show floor, filled the halls
at the Opening and General Sessions, and
packed the Trade Show Floor Education
area. The Star Awards were presented to the
best products and people selected by the
judges in Texas home building, including
the Excellence under 45 Awardwinners.The
business of the association was conducted at
the various committee meetings, our Young
Professionals got together, and everyone
had a great time while doing business with
industry professionals from across the state
and nation. All of these events are covered
in this magazine.
As we wrap up the summer, the kids go
back to school, and we look forward to the
opening of football and hunting seasons,

quarters of the way done, 2015 has
already been an extremely busy
year for the volunteer leaders, members
and staff of the Texas Association of
Builders. I am happy to report that it’s
been a very successful year thus far, one of
which we are extremely proud.

Texas Legislative Session wrapped

and to strategize on its implementation.
In addition to the leadership from GRC

Committee, the members of TAB’s GRCTask
Forces offered expert guidance on issues
related to Property Owners Associations,
Taxes, Worker Misclassification, Multifamily
and Water. The volunteer members of the
