MAP FAQs What is an association map project? It is a map sponsored by an association for promotion of its members and geographic territory. The map helps promote the Association and it’s members, is a non-dues revenue source and assists people moving to or relocating within the area. Does this cost us anything and what are the advertising costs to the members? There is no cost or risk to the Association with the advertising cost ranging from $295 - $3995 for a business card size to a banner size. We ask so much from the members; are we going to the well too many times? This is the number one question from Associations (home builder, chamber, apartment, realty, etc.), Typically, 30%+ of members participating are first time advertisers on any Association project. Because this is an elective project, associations let members decide if this type of publication is right for them. Are there non-dues revenue and how much can be raised? Yes, through advertising sales, most Association projects have raised non-dues revenue with additional potential revenue raised by selling the maps. To date, E&M has raised over $300,000 in non-dues revenue! Where do associations distribute the maps? All advertisers will receive maps, and the remaining maps are distributed through association functions, CVB’s, realtor Associations, banks, mortgage companies, local corporate and chamber relocation packets, etc. There are other maps out there, what is the point for us to publish one? Your map is customized to promote your Association and is a great member benefit. Executive officers often receive compliments for having the “best map of the area”. How big of a membership do we need for this? We have completed successful publications for Associations ranging from 76 to 2400+ members! This sounds like a lot of work – how much is required? Map sponsors have commended us on how little work is required, because E&M takes on the responsibility of selling the advertising, creating the ads, mapping and printing the publication. Just ask your peers who have worked with us. Can we use this as a membership drive? Yes, our publications can and have generated memberships. To date, E&M has raised memberships for local Associations across the Country! My association territory is huge as it covers multiple counties. Can you do a map that big? Yes, it may not have all the roads down to the township level because of readability, but we have published maps encompassing 5+ counties.
