2012 ORA Industry Awards Criteria

The Ohio Restaurant Association (ORA) presents industry awards to members for distinguished careers and service in the foodservice industry. Honorees are recognized by the ORA during its Chairman’s & Industry Awards Event. The 2012 luncheon will be held at the Grand Plaza Hotel, Downtown Toledo on Sunday, Jun. 10, 2012.

In addition to recognition at the Chairman’s & Industry Awards Event, award winners will also receive statewide marketing exposure in the form of press releases, recognition on the ORA website, in à la Carte and News Bites.

Nomination forms will be accepted until Apr. 30, 2012.

Award Categories

2012 Outstanding Restaurateur Award: This award is given to a restaurateur(s) recognized for his/her extraordinary contributions to the restaurant industry – a leader who implements innovative ideas, demonstrates passion for the industry and their community.

2012 Outstanding Purveyor Award: This award recognizes a company for its exceptional service to the restaurant community.

2012 Outstanding Public Offcial Award: This award honors public offcials who fght for the best interest of small business owners and the restaurant community.

The Claude F. Morton, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award: The ORA’s highest award given to one restaurateur for exceptional lifetime service to the restaurant industry and his/her community. Nominees must have been an ORA member for 10+ years.

Nomination Timeline

1. Nomination forms must be received by Monday, Apr. 30, 2012

2. Award recipients will be notifed by e-mail on or before Wednesday, May 9, 2012

3. Recipients will be recognized at the Chairman & Industry Awards Ceremony on Sunday, Jun. 10, 2012

Award Criteria

1. Nominees must be an ORA member in good standing. Nominees for The Claude F. Morton Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award must have been an ORA member for 10 or more years. 2. Nominees may be an individual, a husband/wife team or a partnership with one or more foodservice business operations. Nominees may be working, retired or deceased. There is no limit to the number of individuals nominated. Self-nominations are allowed. 3. A separate nomination form must be completed for each individual nominated. Photocopied forms are accepted. Each area of the form must be completed to be considered for nomination. 4. All recipients are strongly encouraged to attend the Chairman & Industry Awards Event on Jun. 10, 2012 at the Grand Plaza Hotel, Downtown Toledo to receive their award and be recognized by the foodservice industry. 5. Complete the offcial Nomination Form and submit in writing no more than 1-2 page(s) describing the nominee’s contributions and accomplishments. Ask the nominee for a bio to submit in addition to the 1-2 page narrative.
