Over the past several months, the Boards for both the Ohio Restaurant Association and the Ohio Restaurant Association Education Foundation have expanded. Chairman Lynn Brown, Outback Steakhouse, Columbia Station, has appointed fve new directors to the Boards, including Gary Callicoat, of The Rusty Bucket Restaurant & Tavern, Columbus; David Frissora, of Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, Inc., Dublin; Roy Getz, of Raising Cane’s of Ohio, Grandview Heights; Labib Hajjar, of The Beirut Restaurant, Toledo; and Mike Haunert, of Sysco Cincinnati, LLC. Although these fve men have vastly different histories in foodservice, they all share one passion: strengthening Ohio’s foodservice industry through their involvement with both the ORA and the ORAEF.

When interviewed for this article, each expressed that they believe their roles on the Boards will allow them to improve the direction of Ohio’s foodservice, either through greater involvement with the ORA’s political action committee, through growing membership in their area of the state or through enriching the lives of more students through the Ohio ProStart® program.

The ORA and ORAEF Boards of Directors exist to serve their members. With the fve new faces that have joined the Boards, it seems quite apparent that small business leaders, franchise operators and even larger operations will beneft from the experiences and insights these men can offer.
