Annual
Spring
Conference
of
CBAI’s
Career
Development
Division (CDD) was held
March 19 & 20 at the Marriott Hotel
in Normal. The meeting attracted more
than 80 participants. The conference
kicked off with a night of networking
and fun. The morning of the 20th
began with the popular networking
session, followed by the Opening
General Session by Roxanne Emmerich
titled, “How To Create A Thank God
It’s Monday! Culture.” Attendees
also received information through
concurrent sessions on loan review,
Dodd-Frank updates, social and digital
marketing, project management, and
emerging technologies.
Kim McKee, CDD chairman, group
6 director, and vice president, North
Central Bank, Ladd,
conducted the
election of odd-numbered group directors
and the recognition of outgoing CDD
group directors
Ryan Beckemeyer,
Legence Bank, Eldorado; Dax
Garrison, Community Trust Bank,
Irvington;
and
Karrie Herzog, Shelby
County State Bank, Shelbyville
.
Members were then given the current
status of CDD regarding membership
and finances. McKee reported that
dues from the more than 230 members
remain the largest source of income;
however, the Fall Meeting and the Annual
Spring Conference make a significant
fiscal contribution. She also emphasized
that CDD board members have
controlled expenses, making a significant
contribution to the strength of CBAI.
The following individuals were
recognized for their recruitment
efforts this spring with a CDD-logo
insulated mug and $10 bill:
Neal Beer,
Goodfield State Bank; Kelly Green,
Herrin Security Bank;
and
Charles
Colvis, Buena Vista National Bank,

The number of members
these individuals recruited, along
with the recruitment efforts from the
fall, was combined for the annual
recruitment prize of $100 cash, which
was won by Tracy Downs, German-
American State Bank, German Valley,
who recruited two new members.
